Rooted in teamwork, dedication, and commitment, Detroit is My Home aims to assist local and global impoverished and homeless through transpiring acts of charity.
To aid in the revitalization of the city of Detroit and surrounding cities through implementing sustainable programs and empowering those in need.
Detroit Is My Home’s purpose is to address, educate, coordinate, and provide aid and relief to the impoverished and homeless populations in a local and global capacity.
We provide immediate relief by distributing material goods such as clothing and care packages that are comprised of necessary supplies including hygiene products and food products. Furthermore, we plan to implement educational assistance, vocational training, and a housing first program to help reach a long-term solution. We employ social media channels and the organization’s website to provide facts, statistics and other relevant data on causes, current efforts and solutions to aid the impoverished and homeless populations in Detroit and neighboring cities. We aspire to provide relief and assistance to those suffering from poverty and hunger regardless of their race, ethnicity or religion.
Founded in 2015 by a group of individuals who shared a vision to aid and contribute to ending homelessness in Detroit.
Since we formed, we have distributed over 600 care packages, 1000 hot meals, clothing drives, 1 shelter beautification and mural project and numerous partnerships with organizations in the Detroit area.
