A small act of kindness can go a long way; it’s like planting a seed, that sprouts and spreads its roots to one day give rise to more trees. A chain-effect. This is why Detroit Is My Home decided to start making a small ImPACKt by serving homemade hot breakfast at shelters across Detroit as well as making to go lunch bags that we distribute around the city for those individuals who were unable to make it out to the shelters. This is an event we plan to do as often as we can throughout the year. We hope to bring people together in a collective effort to support each other and spread kindness. To date, the Detroit Soul program has served approximately over 2,000 individual breakfast meals and distributed over 100 lunch-to-go bags around the greater Detroit area. $75 provides the funds to feed 100 individuals breakfast as well as to create 30 lunch-to-go packs.
