With the rise in homelessness in our community, there is a lot of work that needs to be done to help. While we may not be able to solve this problem overnight, we can start small by supplementing individuals with the basics. One of these basics includes clothing. In preparation for the cold winter months, Detroit Is My Home organized multiple clothing drives to provide those in need with adequate clothing. During these drives, collection boxes are placed at local mosques, churches, coffee shops and so on. These drives have been a huge success and we were able to deliver various clothing items for men, women, and children to shelters across Detroit. It is through initiatives like this, that we plan to continue serving the community, so we may service more families burdened by poverty.
